G4 Ends Game-Related Programming

TV Network G4 announced today that it will be ending its two longest-running shows, Attack of the Show and X-Play, at the end of the year. A tweet from X-Play personality Blair Herter suggest that major changes are on the way for the network.

X-Play, which launched in 1998, was one of the few U.S. programmers to primarily cover video games. The show consisted of game reviews, demoes, trailers, and more.

Attack of the Show began in 2005 and covered technology, web, and video game content. The cancellation of the shows follows reports that parent company NBC Universal is looking to rebrand the network in a style similar to GQ magazine.

I guess that explains them not re-signing Sessler earlier this year.
