Deep Silver announced today that Metro Last Light will now be released 14th of May in America and 17th May in Europe.
The sequel to 2009’s Metro 2033, the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC game was originally scheduled for release this month under now defunct publisher THQ. However in January during a firesale of the troubled publisher’s assets Deep Silver’s parent company Koch Media bought the rights to the series for a reported $5.8 million.
Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media had the following to say of the announcement.
“The new release date is the ideal way to strike the balance between bringing the best out of Metro: Last Light and not keep the fans waiting longer than necessary. We won’t leave that time unexploited and will work closely together with 4A Games to make the game even better. It will receive all the attention it deserves.”
International Commercial Director at Deep Silver, Menno van der Bil also had the following message for fans;
“Since it has been made public that we took over the Metro franchise, the fans keep asking for a release date. Now we can finally announce when they will be able to get their hands on the game! We would like to thank all of the Metro fans for their patience. And we can assure them that we have a lot more coming their way with the franchise.”,
So there you have it folks, Metro Last Light will be out 15th/17th May for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
